Shelby had her TPLO surgery on Jan. 13,2014. Shelby is a Aussie cattle dog/Siberian Husky weighing in at 50.1 lbs. the date of surgery.

I give all my thanks to the manual on care downloaded free from TopDog. Without that I was in the dark as to how to give her the care she needed. Not affording professional help I used the guidelines given.  With that and adding the GlycanAid HA to her diet, we have come through with flying colors.

Our surgeon says she is healed 100 percent and she has no limping at all. She is now off leash for most of the day only back on when circumstances require it ( neighbors dog out, squirrel harassing her or the stray cats) to control the running.

I am proud to say I am 75 years old and both dogs (Chelsey, Aussie/border collie) walk our mile or two everyday.

Thank you so much for all the help.

Dock is a three year old Lab. Just had his birthday on April Fool’s Day. On September 12, 2013 he had TPLO surgery on his right hind leg. He had struggled with lameness issues for a nine month period prior to surgery. We tried several treatment options to try to determine the cause of his lameness. If wasn’t until we had the knee scoped that a cruciate ligament partial rupture became apparent. He never did exhibit the defining ”drawer movement” symptom.

We were home for two weeks post op when I accidentally found the Top Dog Health site and the wonderful TPLO Home Rehab Guide. This was such an amazing resource. It reduced personal anxiety, gave forward direction, things to avoid and how to do exercises the correct way. The support videos were incredible. Best of all was the interaction with Dr. J when a setback occurred.  At this point we ordered the GlycanAid HA supplement. Dock has been on it ever since.

We have had our challenges trying to get in enough walking outdoor this winter. The snow in Dock’s yard was over three feet deep at its lowest depth for most of the winter. We have done a lot of the exercises outlined in the guide in our rec room. The bone in Dock’s leg was healed by our twelve week visit. Since that time we have seen a certified rehab therapist to further assist in Dock’s recovery. Walking incorrectly to avoid pain for those pre-surgery months led to some compensation injuries.

We had our final planned program visit on March 31, 2014. The veterinary therapist measured his legs, watched him walk, and trot out. He had met the goals on the Recovery Check List.  “He strides evenly, no sign of a limp. If you took him in obedience classes now he would win.”Yahoo!

Thank you Dr. J for all your help and for developing this great supplement.  It has made a big difference in Dock’s recovery and he is so happy he has now been cleared to have supervised play with other dogs.

Thank you so much!

I’m so FLIPPIN excited… I started “Zoe” (my almost 6 yr old Siberian Husky) on GlycanAid about 3 weeks after her TPLO surgery (surgery on 9/26/13) & we JUST came home from her 8 wk check up & X-rays…. Oh my GOSH!  We… My hubby, Vet & myself are very EXCITED to report that he can’t even see a line where the bone was cut n moved. The healing is FANTABULOUS!  GlycanAid is AWESOME!!!

I’m so thankful I came across your TPLO video & website the night before my baby’s surgery. YOU have gotten me thru it ALL.  Weekly email with therapy guidelines, emails answering my questions & concerns, GlycanAid & Flexerna & ALL the AWESOME info on your website… You’re the BEST!  Thank you sooo very much.  I know we are NOT out of the woods by far & she just started limping on the other (non surgery) leg which scares me to death… but…. Her surgery stuff is all moving along so nicely & in my heart… I owe it all to you.

I’m really bummed that I can’t thank you & give you a hug in person but… Know that I TRULY do appreciate all you have done for not only myself & my Siberian… But to all who come in contact with you.

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH AGAIN!

Penny Sharpe (& Zoe too)

Kayla is a beautiful German Shorthaired Pointer that has been extremely active all her life. Unfortunately, she’s had a few injuries over the years but never really slowed her down.

However, in October 2011, two days after the loss of my big boy, and Kayla’s brother Chilco to cancer, Kayla was tackled by accident by another dog while on our walk.  Kayla slipped, yelped and was hardly able to walk.  It turned out that she had torn the ACL in her left hind leg.  Her Vet was hoping is was only a partial tear and recommended full rest for my girl.  It became obvious that she was not getting any better so Kayla was referred to an orthopedic surgeon.  He diagnosed Kayla with a full tear of her ACL and partial tear of the meniscus.  The surgeon recommended the TPLO surgery, which I immediately agreed to.

When I got home, I wanted to educate myself more about ACL injuries and TPLO surgery.  That’s when I came across the TopDog Health website and was extremely amazed that Dr. St. James had a wealth of information and was also offering a “free” rehabilitation guide post TPLO.

I then read about his product, GlycanAid HA-Factor.  I really liked what I was reading about the product but decided to do more research about what else was being offered out there as a similar product.  Honestly, I was disappointed that I couldn’t find anything remotely close to this product in Canada.  After comparing many available products, I came to the conclusion that the GlycanAid HA-Factor was probably the best product I could find.  I decided to order some so I could start Kayla on it immediately after her surgery, which took place just before Christmas in 2011.

Kayla was 12 years old at the time and I had already had her on other type of joint supplement but never really noticed any real differences.  Of course, Kayla went through several months of rehab, hydro-therapy after her surgery, but when she started to walk without a limp, I should note that I followed Dr. St. Clair’s Guide to TPLO rehab, which Kayla’s surgeon was even impressed with!

I became a firm believer that GlycanAid HA-Factor was really helping her.  Her “old” joints seem to be like new and no longer bothering her after exercising.  For me, it was like a miracle and for Kayla it was like she was given a new life!  Kayla has been on GlycanAid HA-Factor since and I have no intent of stopping.  My girl turned 14 1/2 yrs a couple days ago and she still loves going for walks, swimming.  Of course, she’s slowing down and can’t jump in the truck anymore but I’m sure she’d be in worse shape if I wouldn’t discovered this amazing product. Kayla’s Vet is amazed how she’s doing right now considering her age.  Kayla is also on medication for hypo-tyrodism, liver and recently on heart meds because of her murmur getting worse but nothing is stopping her for enjoying life.  I made her a promise when she was 2 months old, that I would give her the best life possible, which includes the best care, nutrition and supplements available. GlycanAid HA-Factor is one of them!  Nothing but the BEST for my girl Kayla!

Thanks Dr. St. Clair for caring so much for our furry family members, and sharing your knowledge & expertise with us.

Both my husband and I have been extremely impressed with your helpful and caring staff.  Martha went out of her way to make sure that we had the correct size harness and sling for our lab/pitbull mix after her TPLO surgery almost 2 weeks ago.  I don’t know how we would have handled her (80 lbs. and very active) without the harness.  It gave HER the security and US the ability to manage her safely as she regained her mobility.

We also purchased the GlycanAid-HA tablets and have doubled the dosage during this recuperation period.  We intend to keep her on a maintenance dosage of this joint supplement for the rest of her life!

Thank you for assisting us during this very stressful time for both Sassy and us.  We only wish that all online retailers were as professional as TopDog!  We have shared our very positive experience with our vet and she seems equally impressed.

I love my TPLO book! We had his surgery done at our local vet by a traveling surgeon.  The rehab paperwork was lacking in any instruction other than PROM and keep him contained for 2 months. I didn’t think this made sense as I have recovered from an ACL surgery and thought my slow PT was so beneficial. Why wouldn’t that help a dog? Your book has been a great source for slow rehab. My dog is so happy to get out and have his exercise walks as he was getting a bit of “cabin fever”. His 1 month check up was very good and on track. He likes your supplement and eats it quite happily.
Thank you so much!

Hi Dr James,
Thank for the Home Rehabilitation Guide it is an excellent guide, much more informative than any information/guidance I had from my Vet.   My vet was delighted with Rex’s progress after his TPLO operation, it was thanks to your guide and supporting e-mails.  It certainly was a time consuming and energy sapping time for me, but worth every second.   A year on and Rex has just had his annual Mountain climb to a height of 3,000 feet, he was scrambling over boulders and going down steep ravines just like a mountain goat, he loves it.   At the end of the walk he was tired but with such a sparkle in his ear and wide grin on his face that said thank you, and he was glad that he was still able to do the things he loved.  He has a slight limp in his rear leg, but that is due to the amount of ligament that had to be cut away, it doesn’t bother him at all.
Thank you once again!

Dear Dr. St. Clair,

I just wanted to thank you for your TPLO pamphlet. SUPER helpful, and I wish I had it 6 weeks ago when my dog first had surgery. I’m working with Patti at the Canine Joint for my dog’s rehab, which is how I found out about you.

I could write a lengthy email about my experiences with the pitfalls and perils of rehab and what the surgeons don’t tell you, with humans and with canines, but I don’t have time at the moment. I just want to say you are SO smart to be putting out educational materials for free. An equivalent in the human world that I know of is the Hospital for Special Surgery.
